National Education Policy to make India great: Saryu Roy
Jamshedpur. More than 500 teachers of Jamshedpur were honored on the occasion of Teachers’ Day in a grand ceremony organized by Swarnarekha Area Development Trust at the auditorium of Motilal Nehru Public School. The event, themed “Practical Dimension of National Education Policy 2020 cum Teacher Honor Ceremony”, was presided over by Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy .
Addressing the gathering, Saryu Roy emphasized the need to understand the challenges of implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. “Only when we recognize the difficulties can we find solutions. The basic objective of this policy is to make India great by enriching our traditions. Our officers must focus more on their duties than their rights. If this happens, our society and nation will progress further,” he said.

Roy highlighted the importance of preparing India’s youth to face global challenges. Referring to ISRO’s advancements, he said, “The aim of the NEP is to ensure that children become proficient in their work through practical learning. This will make our future generation capable and confident.”
Earlier, Anjani Kumar underlined that NEP 2020 gives great importance to education in the mother tongue and skill development. He said, “We have to prepare competent children, not just scholars. Our Sanatan culture must be preserved, and every child should gain social and emotional understanding.”
Dr. Amar Singh observed that teachers today face the challenge of maintaining their credibility. “Education has become more materialistic. The NEP emphasizes yoga and health, as without a healthy body one cannot achieve anything. The Academic Bank of Credit is an innovative step which allows students flexibility in continuing education,” he added.
Sharing her experience, teacher Shipra said, “After visiting ISRO, the children’s mindset has shifted towards practical learning. The government’s effort is to encourage such studies, and as teachers, we must adapt to this change.”
The program began with a welcome speech by Chandradeep Pandey. Stage proceedings were conducted by Manju Singh and Priya.
