Jamshedpur, June 22: State food and civil supplies minister Saryu Roy honoured 43 students of Mithila High School, Sonari, on Saturday. The students were felicitated for passing the class X Board exam with a First Class. Their guardians were also honoured on this occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Roy said today most parents want to send their wards to private English medium schools. Only those parents who are unable to bear the cost of English medium education send their kids to government schools, he said.
Roy said achieving First Class marks in Matric Board exams in government schools is a great achievement.
Many other dignitaries were present at the event. They included Mohan Lal Rai, SP Singh, Kanhaiya Lal Agrawal, Dr Mitreshwar Agnimitra, Lalbabu Singh and Dr Bholendra Pandey.
