Jamshedpur : In a sensational incident, a 40-yearold man was stabbed by a criminal on the Dispensary Road in Sonari on Tuesday morning just 30 metres away from the Sonari police station.
Ravi Bhuiyan is struggling for his life at the MGM Medical College and Hospital emergency with serious injuries. A resident of Sonari, Bhuiyan was a building mason and was returning to his house when he was attacked.
According to sources, Bhuiyan who would stay as a bachelor at a rented house in Satta Colony had worked overnight at a construction site at Kumarpara. He was walking on the Dispensary Road toward his house, a man stopped him and subsequently started attacking him with a knife.
Afterstriking twice in the shoulder, the attacker pierced the knife into the victim’s left arm. He managed to walk a little more toward the Sonari police station and fell down at the entrance of the police station premises.
A group of policemen rushed him to the medical college hospital. Officer-in-charge, Sonari police station, Animesh Gupta confirmed that the incident took place near the Sonari police station, but claimed that the victim was rushed to the medical college hospital as soon as he was found lying in front of the police station.
“We are investigating the incident. Bhuiyan was married, but had been staying as a bachelor while working under a local construction firm. Some personal enmity out of the family feud might be the reason behind the attack and the matter will be clear only when the victim makes a statement to the police,” he said.
Gupta said that the police arranged four bottles of blood to Bhuiyan along with medicines that they had to buy from the market for the victim’s treatment.
