36 new Anganwadi Centres to come up in East Singhbhum

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district has announced plans to construct 36 new Anganwadi centres at a total cost of four crores. Each Anganwadi centre is estimated to cost Rs 11,08,200, and construction will adhere to a standardized model across all locations. The completion timeline for these centres has been set at four months.

The National Rural Employment Programme (NREP) has facilitated both online and offline tender processes for this initiative. Tender forms will be available for purchase at the DC office on July 25 and 26. The tenders will be opened on July 27 at 3:00 PM.

The distribution of new Anganwadi centres includes nine in Potka, ten in Baharagora, six in Musabani, and two each in Patamda, Ghatshila, and Dhalbhumgarh. Additionally, four Anganwadi centres are planned for the Jamshedpur block, with one centre each in Ghorabandha, Manpita, Barigora, and Gadda Upar Tola of Jamshedpur.

Currently, East Singhbhum district hosts a total of 1722 Anganwadi centres, many of which are operating from rented accommodations. The construction of these new centres aims to provide better facilities and services to children and mothers in the region.
