Jamshedpur: A dramatic rescue unfolded on Wednesday morning at Mango bridge when a youth attempting to jump was thwarted by a quick-thinking tempo driver. Around 10:30 AM, witnesses spotted the youth climbing the bridge with apparent intent to end his life. Despite efforts by onlookers to dissuade him, the young man persisted.
An auto driver initially tried to intervene, offering him money to deter him from jumping. However, the youth remained undeterred and attempted to leap over the bridge’s safety net. It was at this critical moment that a tempo driver intervened, preventing the youth from taking the fatal plunge into the Swarnarekha river below.
The identity of the youth remains unknown as he has been unresponsive and unable to provide any information, including his name. Police have been alerted to the incident and are currently questioning the youth to understand the circumstances that led to his desperate act.
