Jamshedpur, Jan 29: Nikunj Agrawal was honored today by the Chandan Chess Academy (CCA), Sonari for his outstanding performance in the recently concluded 4th Navin Kumar Sinha Memorial All India Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2024, held in Chaibasa on January 21, 2024. In the Under-13 Boys category, he secured the 1st position, earning a cash award of ₹1500. The tournament witnessed participation from 199 players across India.
With an overall ranking of 17th, Nikunj not only clinched the top spot in his category but also achieved a rapid FIDE Elo Rating of 110 during the tournament, making him the player with the highest rating increase.
In the 9-round matches, he scored an impressive 6.5 points. Nikunj Agrawal’s FIDE ID is 25769162, with a current FIDE Rapid Rating of 1112 and a Classical Rating of 1220.
Chandan Chess Academy bestowed this honor on Nikunj Agrawal today in recognition of his exceptional performance. Chief Guest Shankar Sarkar, a social worker and CMD of Brightup Technology Private Limited, and guest of honor Akshay Agrawal, a social worker along with CCA Head and FIDE Arbiter Chandan Kumar Prasad, were present on the occasion.
Expressing hope for Nikunj’s future success, Chandan said, “I anticipate that he will continue to excel in the days to come and will emerge as a strong and talented player in the field of chess, bringing pride to Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, and India in the world of chess.
