Seraikela, May 14: Seraikela-Kharsawan District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organized National Lok Adalat at the Civil Court premises here on Saturday. A total of 2994 pending cases were disposed today. A sum of Rs 92 lakh was collected from settlement of cases, said the DLSA officials.
The Lok Adalat was inaugurated by the Principal District and Sessions Judge Vijay Kumar who lit a ceremonial lamp. He thanked all government departments for playing a vital role in ensuring success of the Lok Adalat.
Sources said five benches were set up to dispose 249 pending cases. As many as 2745 pre-litigation cases were also disposed today. The disposed cases pertained to banking, Excise, electricity and compoundable criminal cases. All judges, magistrates and other judicial officers were present on this occasion.
