25 persons, including 15 children fall ill after taking Shradh food in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 24: In Damdih Tola, Nimdih of Dumaria block, 25 villagers, including 15 children fell ill after eating Shradh (funeral ritual) food. The incident occurred in Khairbani Panchayat of Dumaria block in East Singhbhum district. All affected persons were promptly admitted to the Community Health Center at Dumaria, where they received treatment from Dr. Vinay Bhushan Tiwari and Dr. Sushma Hansda.

Dr. Tiwari said that the illness likely stemmed from consuming contaminated food. Relatives reported that symptoms emerged following the Saturday ritual, with vomiting and diarrhea affecting many overnight. The majority of patients’ health began to deteriorate by morning, prompting their transfer to the hospital. Medical intervention proved effective, with patients gradually recovering. To address the situation, a medical team has been dispatched to the affected village by the Community Health Center.
