Jamshedpur: The 24th Jharkhand State Taekwondo Competition was inaugurated today at Rajasthan Bhawan in Mango by MLA Saryu Roy (West Singhbhum) and Jharkhand Taekwondo Association General Secretary Sanjay Sharma. The duo marked the opening by jointly punching the players’ chest guard. The event is organized by the East Singhbhum Taekwondo Association under the aegis of the Jharkhand Taekwondo Association.

The competition has drawn over 600 participants, including players, trainers, managers, judges, and parents from across Jharkhand. The gold medalists of this event will qualify for the 40th National Taekwondo Competition, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from January 27 to 30 under the leadership of Taekwondo Federation of India General Secretary Prabhat Sharma.
Prominent attendees included Jharkhand Taekwondo Association General Secretary Sanjay Sharma, Vice President Mithilesh Kumar Singh, Treasurer Manish Bhardwaj, and representatives from the All India Intellectual Forum, KK Jha and Umesh Chandra Singh.
Stage management was handled by South Point School Director Shiv Prakash Sharma, while the vote of thanks was delivered by East Singhbhum Taekwondo Association General Secretary Gopal Kumar. Organizing Secretary Santosh Tiwari and committee members Rakesh Kumar Rana, Arvind Sharma, Rohit Singh, Mahendra Murmu, Pooja Kaur, Lakhan Kumar, and Voi Sanjay oversaw the arrangements.
The host team, Purvi Singhbhum, fielded the largest contingent, while Ranchi contributed the biggest visiting team.
The event is set to continue with high expectations and intense competition among the participants.
