Chaibasa, August 18: 82-year-old Chokro alias Chokro Tiyu, a resident of Barijal village under Mufassil police station, accused of raping an 8-year-old girl, was sentenced to 22 years rigorous imprisonment by the court of First Additional District and Sessions Judge Omprakash and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
On November 6, 2021, a case was registered against the accused at the Mufassil police station on Soma Bari’s statement.
In the registered case, it was told that on November 2, 2021, Soma Bari’s elder son Munna Bari and his wife Janaki Bari had set out to find the two daughters of their younger brother Ajay Bari.
Searching for the two girls, when they reached near the field, Chokro Tiyu was seen running away from there. When both the girls were brought home and interrogated, the younger girl told the family members that Chokro Tiyu of the village lured both the sisters to the field and there Chokro Tiyu did wrong things with her sister. The family members of the victim, after thinking very carefully, filed a case against Chokro Tiyu in the Mufassil police station. The court pronounced this sentence when the charge of raping a minor girl against Chokro alias Chokro Tiyu was proved.
