Jamshedpur, August 18. Railway employee Sunil Kumar Pillai had committed self-immolation in Railway Traffic Colony under Bagbera police station. Even after a month and a half of the incident, the accused have not been arrested yet.
On the other hand, the main accused Om Prakash Kasera is said to be absconding till now. After Sunil’s death, wife Nirupama Pillai filed an FIR at Bagbera police station against businessman Om Prakash Kasera, IOW SSE RK Singh, Kalyan, Nandu, besides RPF in-charge SK Tiwari, GK Rai and Amarendra, alleging abetment to suicide.
After the incident, Chakradharpur DRM had reached the house of the victim’s family and also assured of appropriate action.
Sunil Pillai was staking his claim on the leased land next to his quarter. While businessman Om Prakash Kasera was also telling his rights on the said land. On June 28, the team of RPF and IOW went to get the possession of Omprakash on the land. On protesting, the RPF took Sunil’s wife and children to the police station with them. Meanwhile, Sunil returned home from work and self-immolated by spraying kerosene after locking himself in the house. After the incident, he was admitted to TMH for treatment where he died on July 3.
