Jamshedpur, July 12 : In a bizarre incident, a22-year-old son attacked his parents at Barsole in Ghatshila sub-division of the East Singhbhum district on wee hours of Thursday.
The accused PavanGoswamiwith a sword attacked his father DhananjayGoswami (55) and mother PutulGoswami (50), causing them to grievous injuries. The villagers rescued the injured couple before rushing them to MGM Medical College Hospital.
As the condition of Dhananjay was serious, the doctors on emergency duty shifted him to Tata Main Hospital, and admitted Putul. Dhananjay has sustained the sword injury in the neck and right hand while the woman has sustained grievous head injury.
“We are in shock and never thought our son will do such a thing with us. Pavan is my elder son and would always demand us to pay him money. But for the past few days he was demanding to get a part of the landed property, which include farm land in his name so that he may sell it out for the money. When we refused, he started quarrel with us and in the night at about 12.30 am, he attacked both of us with a sword,” narrated Putulbefore despite being seriously injured.
She said her son was not like this till a year ago, but ever since he has befriended with a girl in the area, he had been demanding money.
OC, Barsolepolice station, KN Ojha said that they are aware about the incident at Goswami family and are waiting for a complaint against the attacker.
