Jamshedpur: Twenty two people were injured in a road accident on the Hata-Chaibasa main road on Friday when a Tata Magic van overloaded with passengers rammed into a tractor.
Sources said the mishap occurred near Telai village when the tractor driver lost control of the vehicle. As a result the van collided with the tractor at high speed. SAP jawans, who were camping near Newatia High School, seized the tractor and rushed the injured to Rajnagar Community Health Centre. Later, the victims were sent to MGM Hospital. One Vikram Purty was critically injued in the incident.
Sources said the passengers were on their way to attend a wedding ceremony in Ulihatu, Chaibasa all the way from Uparshila village.
