Jamshedpur: Jharkhand government has decided to honour martyrs Ganga Narayan Singh and Raghunath Singh of Chuhar (Bhumij) rebellion. Statues of the two martyrs would be installed at Birsa Munda Museum. This was informed by the state minister CP Singh in reply to a question raised in the Jharkhand Assembly by the Potka MLA Menka Sardar on Friday.

The Potka MLA objected to a reply given by CP Singh regarding the birthplace of Ganganarayan Singh and Raghunath Singh. She said the two were born in Jharkhand and not in West Bengal as answered by SP Singh. Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda also supported her claim.

Meanwhile, members of Bhumij community praised the Potka MLA for her contribution in the struggle to get due respect to Bhumij revolutionaries from the state government.
