Jamshedpur, August 24: Tata Steel Skill Development Society (TSSDS) has achieved 100 per cent placement of trainees enrolled in its housekeeping course consecutively for the sixth time.
All the 22 enrolled trainees in the tenth batch were given job offer letters today at a valedictory function held at Hospitality Training Centre in Kolebira.
Four trainees will join Della Adventure Resort, Lonavala, Maharashtra, 10 trainees will be joining Shanku�s Waterworld Resort, Mehsana, and the remaining eight will be joining Achor Nivas, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The salaries offered to these trainees range from Rs. 5,500 to Rs. 6,500 along with other incentives.
Chief Guest, Saibal Kumar Ghose, General Manager, Hospitality Operations, Taj Hotels & Palaces suggested the trainees to always remain open to learning and training in the hospitality sector. �It will help you grow professionally and take up executive level jobs at a later stage�, he added.
Debashish Chatterjee, Senior Manager, Skill Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Tata Steel also appreciated their commitment.
�My new job will help my family ward off financial hardships to an extent. I was in a dire need of job,� said Surya Hansdah (25), from Seraikela-Kharsawan, all set to join Della Adventure Resort, in Maharashtra.
Sharing similar sentiments, Sonaram Surin (19), also from the same district, said, �My father being a contractual labour, there�s no permanent source of income in my family. But now I will be able to take care of my family.�
In its bid to fulfill the demand of trained manpower in hospitality sector, Tata Steel along with Indian Hotels and PRATHAM, an NGO, has been training economically weak youth at its Hospitality Training Centre in Kolebira since 2013.
