1st Jharkhand State Ranking Table Tennis Championship concludes

West Bokaro, June 10: The first edition of �Jharkhand State Ranking Table Tennis Championship� organised by Tata Steel�s West Bokaro Division and Ramgarh District Table Tennis Association (RDTTA) at Holy Cross School, West Bokaro concluded today.

The concluding day function of the three-day mega event was attended by A Vijaya Laxmi (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Ramgarh District as chief guest along with Sunil Kumar (JAS), Deputy Development Commissioner, Ramgarh, Mohan Mahto, President, Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh, Jaikumar Sinha, Secretary, Jharkhand State Table Tennis Association, Praveen Sinha, Chief, Human Resources Management, Tata Steel (West Bokaro) and Anand Kumar, Chief, Capacity Enhancement Project, Tata Steel (West Bokaro).

More than 150 players from various districts of Jharkhand participated in this championship under 10 different categories. Winners of the championship along with the referees and supporting staff were felicitated by the guests on the concluding day ceremony.

Appreciating the efforts put in by the organisers for successfully organising the championship, A Vijaya Laxmi said, “It is good to see girls participating in so many number. I strongly believe that soon we will see a few girls from this state representing India at Olympics in this game.�

To successfully organise the championship, an organising committee was formed comprising of officials from District Administration, Tata Steel, Jharkhand State Table Tennis Association and members of social organisations of the region.
