Jamshedpur: Gayatri Parivar Trust Navyug Dal Tatanagar organized its 34th blood donation programme titled ‘Raktdaan Mahayagya Abhiyan’ at DSM School in Kasidih on Sunday.
The chief guest of the occasion was the central general secretary of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, Abhay Singh. He said the blood donation camp was being held continuously for the last eight years. The people will be greatly benefitted by the blood donation camp. More and more people should come forward to save lives through blood donation, he said.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Dilip Singh, director of the school, M Venkata Laxmi, Pramod Kumar Singh, K Prabhakar Rao and Jasbir Kaur.
The guests lit a ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the camp. They were welcomed in a traditional manner. A welcome speech was given by K Prabhakar Rao.
Addressing the gathering, Venkata Laxmi said the blood donors were doing a great humanitarian job.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Sanjeev Sinha while the programme was conducted by JK Sachan. The camp convenor Sanjeev Sinha thanked one and all for making the event successful.
A total of 147 units of blood were collected on the occasion. Among those present on the occasion included Sangeeta Shal, Geeta Devi, Ruby Sharma, Divya Bharati Choudhary, Bindi Prasad, Ranjeeta Roy, Santosh Srivastava.
