Jamshedpur, August 17: Organizing Secretary of Jamshedpur Basketball Association (JBA), KK Singh informed that the 19th Youth Jharkhand State Basketball tournament will be organized between August 19 and 21. The tournament is being organized by JBA and 22 teams have given their consent to participate in the three day tourney.
JBA Organizing Secretary, KK Singh further informed that the tournament will be inaugurated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), East Singhbhum Prabhat Kumar on Friday, August 19. KK Singh said, “All participating teams will have to report on Thursday, August 18. The teams will undergo medical tests on their arrival,” and added, “Chairman of the selection committee, Anup Minj and his panel members will select players in the course of the tournament and those selected will represent Jharkhand in the National Youth Basketball Championship to be held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Both, boys’ and girls’ teams will participate in the national tournament.”
JBA President, Bharat Singh has assured of all possible facilities to players for ensuring success of the tournament. Earlier, during the meeting, JBA President Bharat Singh condoled the sudden and untimely demise of Amitabh Chaudhary. Two minutes’ silence was observed in memory of the departed soul. Among others present in the meeting were JBA Secretary Mohan Kumar, JP Singh, Treasurer Ramkumar Upadhyay and Assistant Secretary Subodh Kumar.
