JFC Corner, Theme based kids Cartoon Park to attract visitors
30 CCTV cameras installed, six watch towers in place
Jamshedpur, Feb. 26: Preparations for the 179th Founder’s Day (March 3) in Jamshedpur are in its final stage.
The city is all decked up to pay tributes to its founder Jamsteji Nusserwanji Tata. The theme this year is Imagimax -‘Imagining to the Maximum’. It commemorates the vision of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata after whom the steel city took its name nearly a century ago.
Series of events have been lined up for the occasion from laser show to musical fountain show, illumination at Jubilee Park and other parks around the city to founders day pageantry the citizens will have a happening time from 3rd to 5th March.
Ashish Mathur, managing director, Jusco, said it’s a momentous occasion as it’s the biggest celebration in the eastern part of the country. With Tata group completing 150 years, the 179th founder’s day will have several new attractions inside the Jubilee Park including release of big sky balloon with Tata 150 logo, LED lights in clusters, Animals in inflatable shapes, Theme based kids cartoon park, illuminated floats in lake “I Love Jamshedpur”, JFC Corner, LED models – 4 nos. at different locations, LED wrapped around trees and Happening City – Jamshedpur in LED lights after which the illumination inside park will be done at 6:30 pm on 2nd March by the top executives of Tata group, added Mathur. Simultaneous illumination of Bhetiya Park, Kadma, Nildih Park, Nildih, Bhuiyadih Park, Bhuiyadih, Sir Dorabji Tata Park along with Jubilee Park will be done for wider access to everyone in the city.
Addressing a press conference at JRD Sports Complex on Monday, Mathur said, every year we try to bring new content for the people of Jamshedpur who are considered as the soul of the city. He informed that illumination at Jubilee Park will be open for public viewing from 3rd March to 5th March 2018 from 6 pm to 10 pm. Vehicular movement inside Jubilee Park will be allowed from 10.00 pm till 11.00 pm on 3rd March and 5th March 2018 only as there is an ISL match on March 4th.
Replying to a query, Ashish Mathur said that six watch towers have been erected inside the park and to add to the security 30 CCTV cameras have been installed with main control room near JN Tata’s statue.
Special attraction during the founder’s day will be laser beam Show at Beldih Lake with smoke as a screen. The show will be held on 2nd March at 7.00 pm and from 3rd March to 5th March at 6.45 pm, 7.45 pm and 8.45 pm, added Mathur.
Jusco MD further said that with the support of the citizens of Jamshedpur and the Local Administration, a spectacular pageantry will be organized in front of the Founder’s Statue near Main Post Office, Bistupur, at 10.00 am. The pageantry will include tableaus from Associate Companies, Social Organisations, Jamshedpur Armed Force (JAP) and Rapid Action Force (RAF). Approximately 2000 participants will take part in the pageantry.
He went on to say that laser show and musical fountain show will be held from 3rd March to 5th March, 2018 with usual charges as applicable. Show timings are as follows – 1st Show – 7.00 pm, 2nd Show – 8:00 pm and 3rd Show – 9:00 pm.
Capt. Dhananjay Mishra, Sr. GM (Jamshedpur Town Operations), Jusco said that the exhibition of Floats will be held near Sir Dorabji Tata Park instead of Ganesh Puja ground in Kadma. For the last 3 years all the floats participating at the Postal Park are kept for public display. This year also the participating floats of social organizations will be kept for public display near Sir Dorabji Tata Park on 3rd and 4th March 2018 for the citizens.
Talking about the parking, Capt. Mishra informed that space in front of Sacred Heart School, in front of Sir Dorabji Tata Park, near Mohan Ahuja Stadium and in front of Rabindra Bhawan, Sakchi has been earmarked as parking space for the convenience of the visitors.
‘We expect a footfall of 10 to 12 thousand people everyday which is rising every year and we have the security in place to tackle any untoward incident’, added Mishra.
