Ratan Tata, N. Chandrasekaran to arrive on March 2
Jamshedpur Feb 26: Top executives of Germany based Thyssenkrupp AG headed by their CEO Heinrich Hiesinger will be the guests for the 179th Founder’s Day celebration in Jamshedpur on March 3.
As the city gets ready to pay homage to its founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, a nine-member delegation from Thyssenkrupp will arrive in the city on March 2.
‘Top leadership of Thyssenkrupp AG along with Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of the Tata Group, N. Chandrasekaran, chairman, Tata Sons along with his wife, Ratan Tata’s sister, Dr Peter Blauwhoff, additional (independent) director, Tata Steel will be part of the 179th founder’s day celebration in the city.
The guests will be arriving on March 2 and will attend the inauguration of illumination at Jubilee Park the same evening. They will witness the celebration inside the Tata Steel works on March 3rd morning where pageantry would be held as usual with tableaus by Tata Steel, its subsidiaries and sister concerns’, said Kulvin Suri, chief corporate communications, Tata Steel.
Addressing a press conference at JRD Sports Complex on Monday, Suri informed that last September, Tata Steel Limited and Thyssenkrupp AG signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create a leading European steel enterprise by combining the flat steel businesses of the two companies in Europe and the steel mill services of the Thyssenkrupp group.
‘Tata Steel in expecting to finalise joint venture of European steel biz with that of Thyssenkrupp’s by end of 2018’, noted Suri.
