15 shop demolished near Jugsalai level crossing

Jamshedpur, Feb 9: As many as 15 shops were pulled down in an anti-encroachment drive launched near Jugsalai railway level crossing by the East Singhbhum district administration on Wednesday, sources said.

Sources said a two day ultimatum was given to other shop owners to remove encroachment from railway land. They said the railways had set a 2022 deadline to complete the railway over bridge (ROB) project. In view of the ongoing project, the administration is making every effort to remove encroachment from the railway land near the ROB to ensure timely completion of the project and smooth traffic, sources said.

Sanjay Gupta of Railway Works Department said harsh measures would be taken against the encroachers of railway land.
