Jamshedpur, May 10: Residents within the Mango Municipal Corporation area have reason to rejoice as a significant relief measure has been announced. Effective immediately, individuals who deposit their holding tax before June 30 will receive a generous discount of up to 15 percent. This decision was made during a meeting convened by Additional Municipal Commissioner Ranjit Lohra at the Mango Municipal Corporation office.
The meeting, primarily focused on revenue collection strategies, emphasized the importance of timely tax payments from residents. As part of the incentive scheme, it was agreed that taxpayers who opt for home visits by tax collectors and settle their dues will receive a 5 percent rebate. Alternatively, individuals who choose to pay their taxes in person at the office will be eligible for a 2.5 percent discount. Additionally, an extra 5 percent concession will be granted for payments made through online channels.
Furthermore, special consideration will be given to certain demographics within the Mango Municipal Corporation area. Women, senior citizens, disabled individuals, third-gender individuals, and those serving in Indian service sectors pertaining to water and air will be entitled to an additional 5 percent discount.
Moreover, buildings measuring up to 350 square feet will be exempt from land tenure tax, although they will still undergo assessment procedures.
