Jamshedpur: Basco Tudu gets life imprisonment for quadruple murder

Jamshedpur, May 10: In a chilling case of familial violence stemming from a land dispute, Basco Tudu from Jamshedpur has been handed a life sentence for the brutal murder of four individuals in Patharbhanga Tola – Chatani village. The victims, Thapa Tudu, Ramesh Tudu, Ramesh’s wife Malti Tudu, and his sister Sonia Tudu, were mercilessly beaten to death, allegedly by Basco Tudu wielding a leg, in a tragic incident that shook the community.

During the trial presided over by ADJ-2 Abhash Kumar Verma, Basco Tudu was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. Additionally, he was fined Rs 1 lakh, with failure to pay resulting in an additional year of imprisonment. The court heard testimony from 13 individuals, shedding light on the heinous nature of the crime.

Madan Tudu, a resident of the village, had initially filed the case against Basco Tudu, recounting the gruesome events to the police. According to Madan, the tragedy unfolded as he was tending to his chores, only to witness Basco Tudu’s violent assault on Thapa Tudu, which ultimately led to the deaths of four family members.
