Jamshedpur, May 11: With lockdown being clamped down in a majority of states, migrant workers have started retracing their steps and returning to their native places. The rush of people from other states is on. Today, at the Tatanagar railway station, 142 migrant workers returned to the city by the Ernakulam Express that reached at 4 am. 120 of the passengers were from East Singhbhum while other belonged to Saraikela-Kharsawan Five of these passengers were found to be corona positive and have been sent for isolation at UCIL Hospital.
Passengers of trains arriving from the north eastern sectors are also being tested for COVID infections. A train that reached Tatanagar late noon carried 133 passengers to the city. Six among them were tested positive and have been put in isolation. ADM (L&O) led a team that included CO Jamshedpur Sadar, CO Potka and police station OCs to ensure maintenance of protocols and proper tests the District Health Department team carrying out COVID tests included Kundan Kumar, Senior Lab Technician Kartick Kumar Mahto, Naresh Kumar and Sanjiv Kumar.
