Jamshedpur: Out of 12 agencies that applied for the cleaning contract in the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), two applications have been rejected, while the remaining 10 agencies are currently under review. Officials are thoroughly scrutinizing the submitted documents before finalizing contracts for sanitation services across the city.
The JNAC area is divided into seven zones, including government offices and residential areas, ensuring a systematic approach to cleaning operations. Selected agencies will be responsible for road sweeping, drain cleaning, maintenance of public and community toilets, bush cutting, door-to-door garbage collection and spraying of bleaching powder in designated areas.
JNAC allocates over Rs 4.78 crore annually for cleaning operations, with approximately Rs 40 lakh spent per month. The monthly expense for garbage collection alone is Rs 6.51 lakh. The cleaning and waste management activities will be conducted under the supervision of 395 employees and 15 supervisors. Additionally, Rs 1.55 lakh is allocated monthly for the cleanliness of government offices and residential quarters.
With the tender process nearing completion, JNAC aims to ensure efficient sanitation services in the city. The final selection of agencies will be announced after the document verification process is completed.
