1-year-old survives Critical Brain Tumor post a Twelve hour Surgery

Jamshedpur, Feb 3: A 1-year-old boy was suffering from recurrent vomiting, diminishing vision, irritability, increasing drowsiness.

He was admitted in a critical and unconscious condition to Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital.

Post medical examinations, it was diagnosed that the kid was suffering from a huge tumor in posterior fossa, small space in the skull located in or near the bottom of the skull.

Moreover, the tumor was blocking the flow of fluid in the brain leading to abnormal accumulation of fluids inside the brain and thereby increasing pressure on the brain.

Though a critical case in itself, Dr. Nasikh Perwez, Consultant-Neuro & Spine Surgery, Brahmananda Narayana Multispeciality Hospital took up the challenge an performed a twelve hour successful surgery along with his team of neurosurgical paramedical staff and pediatricians.

The child is now on the road to recovery with regained consciousness, good vision and oral food consumption.
