Jamshedpur: Youth Unity for Voluntary Action (YUVA), in collaboration with the Women Gaining Ground Consortium (CREA, New Delhi), organized a district-level seminar on strategies to prevent gender-based violence. The seminar was part of a 16-day campaign aimed at promoting equality and ensuring a safe environment for all women.
Barnali Chakraborty, Secretary of YUVA, stressed the importance of collective efforts to combat gender-based violence, noting the alarming rise in violence against individuals based on gender identity. “It is crucial that we come together to address this issue and create a safer society for women,” she said.
The seminar focused on strengthening one-stop centers, which provide support to victims of gender-based violence. Discussions also included strategies for raising awareness through media and community outreach, and fostering collaboration between government agencies, social organizations, and the public.
The event concluded with a resolution to work collectively to prevent gender-based violence and promote a safe, inclusive environment for all women.
