Jamshedpur: A gang of 10 youths lynched a 27-year-old man under Sonari police station area late on Sunday night. The victim was identified as Mansa Mahali. The assailants carried the body and dumped it into bushes on the campus of Jamshedpur Co-operative College under Bistupurpolice station area.
The murder took place at Balram Bhatta along the marine drive in Sonari. The police recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem having taken a statement from LakhinderMahali, elder brother of the murder victim.
Mansa was a poultry dealer in Tillu Bhatta area in Sonari. On Sunday evening, after finishinghis work he had gone to his friend’s house in near-by Balram Bhatta .
Samir Sardar (25) who is Mansa’s cousin brother came along with 10-11 youths and brought Mansa from his friend’s house. All those who had accompanied Samir started beating Mansa as a result of which he lost his sense. Within few minutes he succumbed to his injuries.
As he died, Samir who has a criminal record along with the other assailants carried the victim on their shoulder and dumped the body in a bush on the campus of Jamshedpur Co-operative College.
Senior SP, Anoop T Mathew and police officials from Sonari and Kadmapolice station along with other senior cops reached the spot and prevented the situation from taking an ugly turn.
Today, the police registered a case of murder against Samir and nine others on the statement of LakhinderMahali. Mansha’s younger brother Raja Mahali said that his brother had assaulted Samir three months ago over some dispute and ever since he was planning to avenge the assault.
