Jamshedpur, Aug 21: An incident of firing was reported from outside the residence of JMM leader Babar Khan in Zakir Nagar road number 18, Babar Gali under Azadnagar police station of Jamshedpur on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, two unidentified criminals on a two-wheeler arrived at the spot to kill Md. Shahzada who was sitting with his friends in the car outside Babar Khan’s house.
The criminals fired at him but the bullet missed the target. By the time Md Shahzada could understand, the criminals fled the spot. On receiving the information, SSP Dr M Tamil Vanan, City SP Subhash Chandra Jat, DSP Patmada Sumit Kumar, Azadnagar police station in-charge Naresh Sinha and other police officials reached the spot and has started investigation into the matter.
But police failed to recover the bullet from the spot. Locals informed the police that they had heard gunshots. Md. Shahzada told that he was sitting in the car with his friends when two youths passed by him on a bike. After a while the same youth came again and opened fire. By the time he could understand something, both of them fled. Shahzada informed that during Muharram he had a clash with a young man near Zakirnagar road number 15. Probably the same young man would have opened fire.
