Chaibasa: Two persons were killed, and another was seriously injured in a road accident near Bara Thalko village on the Chaibasa–Seraikela main road under the jurisdiction of Pandrashali Outpost in Chaibasa district on Monday.
According to reports, a truck coming from Chaibasa collided head-on with a Swift Dzire car bearing registration number JH05AQ-4961, which was travelling towards Seraikela. The impact of the collision was so severe that the driver of the car died on the spot.
Another occupant of the car sustained critical injuries and succumbed while being taken to Sadar Hospital. A third person was seriously injured and was immediately rushed to Sadar Hospital, Chaibasa, by local residents. After receiving first aid, the injured person was referred to a another medical centre for further treatment.
The accident led to chaos at the spot, with traffic movement disrupted for some time. The identities of the deceased and the injured person had not been established till the filing of this report. On receiving information, police from Pandrashali Outpost reached the scene, seized the damaged vehicles, and initiated an investigation. Further legal action is underway.
