Youth Congress condemns starvation death

Jamshedpur: State Youth Congress secretary Rakesh Sahu on Wednesday condemned the starvation death of an 11 year old girl in Simdega. He lambasted the state government for the death and held it responsible for it. He said the girls family had not got ration for the last six months as their ration card had not been linked with Aadhar. In a press statement issued today, Sahu said the Youth Congress would launch a Kolhan-division level agitation on the issue after Chhath. He said the district administration of all the three districts of Kolhan should learn from the incident and take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in their jurisdiction. He said the Supreme Court has already said that the government cannot deprive any citizen of benefits just because they do not have Aadhar card.
