Jamshedpur, Jan. 13: A 26-year-old youth who had along with one of his friends tried to dishonor a 20-year-old woman by distributing posters having the young woman’s objectionable pictures near her parents’ house in Mango. The accused has been identified as Shivashis Kumar, resident of Gurudwara Road in Mango.
Kumar’s associate, Birju Prasad, who is a resident of Baridih and also accused in the case has absconded, leading the police to conduct his house at Baridih today.
In this connection, mother of the victim who is a resident of Post Office Road in Mango lodged an FIR against Kumar and Birju after creating ruckus at the Mango police station along with her family members and relatives.
According to sources, the woman in question was a staff at Payal Cinema two years ago when she had become with Kumar. Kumar wanted to get close to her and started harassing her along with his friend Birju, she left the job. A year later she was married to someone else in Bihar and settled there.
Kumar, who had some photograph of the girl with him in the past, started making posters having superimposed the girl’s face with objectionable posture of some other female and started distributing such posters in the neighbourhood where the girl’s parents reside.
Peeved over the behavior, the parents of the woman understood the intention of the accused and subsequently approached the police for taking the necessary action against them.
Officer-in-charge, Mango police station, Fulan Nath confirmed the incident. ” We are investigating the incident. Two youths have allegedly tried to defame a 20-year-old married woman by distributing objectionable posters in the neighbourhood where her parents live. The kind of act the accused have resorted to, we assume that they had tried to blackmail the girl for something,” said Nath.
The officer-in-charge said that the young woman in question is presently not at the city and is at her in-laws’ house in Bihar. “We have decided to call the girl for getting a better idea behind the act.
At present we have arrested Shivashis Kumar because there was enough evidence of his involvement in this heinous act,” said the officer-in-charge, adding that they are also trying to arrest the other accused involved in the crime. He said raids are being conducted.
