Jamshedpur, March 7: A shocking case of suicide has come to light from Danisai village under Podadiha Panchayat in the Kowali police station area, where a 23-year-old married woman allegedly ended her life by hanging on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Pooja Mishra.
According to her husband, Sumit Mishra, he and his mother had gone to work when they received a phone call from villagers informing them that something untoward had happened at their home.
On rushing back, he found his wife hanging from the ceiling fan with the help of a towel. With the assistance of local residents, the police were immediately informed about the incident.
On receiving the information, the Kowali police reached the spot and rushed Pooja Mishra to MGM Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared her dead after examination.
Sumit Mishra stated that there had been no dispute between him and his wife, though she often spoke about taking her own life.
Kowali Police Station in-charge Dhananjay Paswan said that, prima facie, the case appears to be one of suicide.
So far, no written complaint has been received, and the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
The tragic incident has left the family devastated, particularly as the couple’s five-year-old daughter has been left motherless.
