Young Indians organise Road Safety Bike Rally in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In observance of Road Safety Month, the Jamshedpur Chapter of Young Indians orchestrated a Road Safety Bike Rally themed “Slow Down Jamshedpur.” The event, flagged off by City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, aimed to promote responsible riding and raise awareness about the perils of rash driving and overspeeding.
Jamshedpur Traffic DSP Animesh Gupta and Dronacharya Awardee Archer Purnima Mahato were present to encourage and motivate the participants during the rally. Starting from the road in front of Sacred Heart Convent School, bikers covered a 10-kilometer route, adhering to a speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour.
The rally sought to educate youth about the consequences of road accidents, with a focus on the correlation between accidents and overspeeding. Statistics from the Transport Ministry underscored the prevalence of accidents caused by exceeding speed limits.
Road Melters, a bikers club, shared insights on selecting and wearing the right helmets, emphasizing safety measures for riders. Participants, primarily students from Netaji Subhash University and Arka Jain University, expressed newfound appreciation for the thrill of riding within a controlled speed limit.
Jamshedpur traffic police personnel led the rally, ensuring a safe and organized event. Notably, members of the Civil Defense from South Eastern Railway actively participated, contributing to the overall success of the initiative.
Young Indians, represented by individuals like Shruti Jhunjhunwala, Sakshi Agarwal, Akash Anand, Harsh Agarwal, and Saurabh Agarwal, played pivotal roles in orchestrating and ensuring the success of the Road Safety Bike Rally. Participants left the event not only with a sense of accomplishment but also with heightened awareness of the importance of responsible biking for a safer road environment.
