MLA demands CBI probe into BJP activist Prakash Yadav murder

Jamshedpur, July 22: Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency legislator and former state minister Saryu Roy has demanded a CBI probe in the murder of BJP leader and lawyer Prakash Yadav who was ruthlessly murdered in Birsanagar on Tuesday night. Reacting to former Chief Minister Raghubar Das� accusation of Bharatiya Jan Morcha (BJM) executives� involvement in the crime, Saryu Roy advised, �It is just six months that you have been away from power and so you must show restraint. How could a lawyer who himself used to fight cases of Adivasi land sale-purchase be immaculately clean? I advise the top BJP leaders to practice restraint.�
It may be mentioned here that on Tuesday night criminals had murdered BJP leader and lawyer brutally in Birsanagar. The family members of slain Prakash Yadav had named BJM Birsanagar Mandal president Amulya Karmakar, Gautam Ghosh along with others before the police. The police have taken the named in custody and are questioning them. Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das had gone to Birsanagar to express his condolences to the family. He had observed then, �Saryu Roy resorted to false propaganda as a ploy to win the election.�
Saryu Roy immediately conducted a press briefing after Das� allegation against him and warned, �If you accuse me, I will pay you back with interest. Before accusing a person, there should be a proper and impartial investigation. The former Chief Minister is politicizing the issue.�
Saryu Roy went on to state, �The person who for 25 years had swept the law under the carpet and provided benefits to his relatives is now trying to stain the image of another person. He (Raghubar Das) has shielded and nurtured the land mafias. Who is getting a house constructed I Sonari? Who has constructed a building over a drain in Bhalubasa and doing business there? Who has created a colony in his own name in Burmamines long Tand Basti and encroaching land there? Under whose directives did the firing on Rajesh Singh of Mango occur? All these will be probed and justice meted out.�
An angry Saryu Roy raised these pointers at the media meet. He said that he would himself set up an enquiry team of his party which would submit its findings within one week. The enquiry will also look into the illegal land encroachments and the findings would be made public.
