Ranchi: YBN College, Ranchi entered the national finals of the Red Bull Campus Cricket Tournament after defeating the city champions from Patna and Raipur. The college team won both their matches to reach the finals in Jaipur. In the first match YBN College, Ranchi defeated NIT College Patna by 142 runs. Batting first YBN team scored 205/5 in 20 overs. In reply NIT Patna team was bundled out for just 63 runs. Pankaj Kumar of YBN College scored 103 runs from just 46 balls to ensure his team registers a big win. He also won the man of the match award. In the second match, YBN College beat Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology, Raipur by 7 wickets. Shankaracharya Institute scored 96 runs in 18 overs. In reply YBN College team achieved the target in 9.3 overs to register a bug win. Vinit Chauhan of YBN College was declared the man of the match for taking 4 wickets. Top two teams from each zone will then compete in the National finals, where the teams will play in the knockout rounds of quarterfinals, semifinals and finals respectively. The National winner will then represent India in the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Series Championship 2019.
