Jamshedpur: After Barigora Gate Accident, DRM Reviews ROB Project

Jamshedpur: Following the tragic death of a schoolgirl who was crushed by a bus near the Barigora Railway Gate, the railway administration swung into action. The Chakradharpur Division DRM Tarun Huria visited Tatanagar and conducted a detailed review of the incident.

The DRM met local panchayat representatives and residents at the site, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.

Speaking to the media, the DRM stated that the delay in construction of the proposed Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Level Crossing No. 138, Barigora Gate, was due to hurdles in the shared funding model, under which the project cost was to be borne equally by the state government and the railways. When delays occurred from the state’s side, the railways offered to bear the entire project cost, which has now received state government approval.

However, the state government has raised objections to the previously approved alignment and has instructed the preparation of a new alignment. The DRM said that drawings are being prepared as per the revised alignment, and construction will begin immediately after approval.

Reiterating the railways’ commitment, the DRM assured that the ROB project will be completed on priority, ensuring smoother traffic flow and preventing recurrence of such tragic accidents in Jamshedpur.
