XLRI Jamshedpur hosts Start-Up Conclave Ingenium

Jamshedpur: XLRI’s Conclave Committee recently hosted its fourth Start-Up Conclave, Ingenium, on February 3, 2024. The event proved to be a dynamic platform that celebrated and recognized innovative leaders and entrepreneurs. Ingenium showcased an engaging environment for exploring the journeys of these trailblazers through insightful panel discussions and interactive sessions. Emphasizing the need for organizations to be agile and future-ready in an ever-evolving business landscape, the symposium became a significant and impactful gathering.

The event featured moderators Poonam Shree, Sugandha Singh, Rohan Khanna, and Anukriti Srivastava, along with hosts Pranav Varma, Oiendrila Mukherjee, Vanshdeep Singh Rathod, and Shalini Bhardwaj. Conclave Committee members Yashank Tiwari, Neelesh Gupta, Tushar Batra, and Kashyap Kompella played pivotal roles in organizing the event seamlessly.

The Inaugural Address by Prof. Sunil Sarangi, from XLRI’s Entrepreneurial Cell, set the stage for the event. He thanked the speakers for their time and encouraged them to share inspiring stories with students, believing that effective change in mindset comes from such narratives. Prof. Sarangi urged students to ponder over their entrepreneurial concepts and engage with others to transform ideas into tangible realities.

The first panel, titled “Decoding Dhanda: Hacks to make a Profitable Business,” featured distinguished speakers including Pradeep Jadhav, Dr. M.A. Maluk Mohamed, Amrendra Singh, and Ish Babbar. The discussion focused on the intricacies of managing a Bootstrap business, highlighting the elements of success, core value proposition, mastery of core unit economics, and achieving profitability. The panelists shared insights into the virtues of self-discovery, maintaining resilience, and adapting to challenges, emphasizing the pivotal role of technology in the B2B sector.

The second panel explored “Next-Gen Thinking: Catalyzing Gen Z & Millennials in the Indian Startup Ecosystem” with speakers Nishan Kapoor, Varun Mahna, and Abhishek Sharma. The discussion emphasized the importance of active involvement throughout a startup’s lifecycle and the holistic evaluation of a startup, considering the fundamentals of the business model, founders, and customer needs. The speakers highlighted the significance of technology penetration in product development, recognizing the emotional and socially conscious nature of Gen Z and Millennials.

The final panel discussion focused on “Crafting a Brand: Tactics, Narrative, and Sustainability.” Speakers Tarun Katial, Bhaktha Keshavachar, Vaibhav Khandelwal, and Reeju Datta explored the intricacies of brand development, emphasizing tactics, narrative construction, and sustainability measures.

The grand event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Sunil Sarangi, summarizing the entire session. The event was organized seamlessly under the guidance of Prof. Kanagaraj Ayyalusamy and Anshu Kumari, showcasing the success of XLRI’s Start-Up Conclave – Ingenium 2024. The conclave not only celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit but also provided valuable insights and inspiration to the students and participants, marking it as a milestone in XLRI’s commitment to fostering innovation and leadership in the startup ecosystem.
