XLRI hosts IdeaKon to promote entrepreneurship among youth

Jamshedpur : The Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) at XLRI Jamshedpur is conducting IdeaKon, a speaker series cum networking event on entrepreneurship. It has partnered with Ashu Agrawal- an entrepreneurship evangelist, former Head of North India Operations for Indian Angel Networks and a member of the board of advisors to start-ups across various business domains.

IdeaKon is an interactive event which includes speaker sessions conducted by entrepreneurs, enlightening the audience about their exciting journeys, with an audience-to-start-up networking session, followed by a start-up-to-start-up networking session. These speaker sessions would be from several backgrounds; ranging from technology; to agriculture; to advertisement.

The purpose behind this is to bring variety to the platform and facilitate healthy discussion. To encourage the student fraternity at XLRI, the rounds also have an elevator pitch session that will be running parallel to the aforementioned Networking Sessions.

The most appealing idea of the elevator pitches will be mentored by Ashu Agrawal.

The speakers for IdeaKon include Shruti Dhanda(Founder & CEO, Shop to Surprise), Akshay Verma(Founder & Director ,SkillHippo, Agratam India, Arion Ratings), Akanksha Bapna(Founder & CEO, Eval Design), Naeem Khan (Founder, Foodys), Gaurav Barman(Founder, EduVision), Harshit Mittal(Founder, IdeasFreezed), and Robin Jha(Founder, Tpot).

IdeaKon, powered by Ensemble, is co-sponsored by AIADA with Suzuki Gixxer as associate sponsor, Business World as media partner and W2E as outreach partner.

The audience would benefit greatly from the experiences shared by the start-ups on the stage, as well as off stage. These experiences may also motivate a number of students to take the plunge into an entrepreneurial venture.

IdeaKon would also be a great place for the start-ups to network with each other, as well as with some of the professors here in XLRI. To enable the next start-up story, IdeaKon would also have an idea validation round for the students.

Start-ups from different parts of the country, in different fields would share their experiences with the audience. These experiences would consist of the journey of the start-ups right from inception of the idea to the motivation behind pursuing it further and interesting instances along the way which inspired / changed the thinking of the founders.

The speakers may also share any other instances which they think would be beneficial to the members of the audience. The event would shimmer with the energy of convergence of the veterans and the young minds at one place. The event will be not just a learning opportunity but a wholesome experience.

XLRI, a front-runner in the field of entrepreneurship houses an Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell), a student run body formed with a view to promoting entrepreneurship among the students. An effort to foster and improve entrepreneurship and related activities, the Entrepreneurship Cell at XLRI, holds myriads of events, workshops and summits throughout the year.

Ashu Agarwal is an entrepreneurship evangelist and a member of the board of advisors to start-ups across various business domains, In the past he has served as a private banker with organizations like Standard Chartered, Deutsche bank, and recently he was the Head of North India Operations for Indian Angel Networks.
