Xavier School students’ council sworn in, Piyush, Shweta take oath as head boy and girl

Gamharia, May 4:  The installation ceremony of the Students’ Council of Xavier School in Gamharia for the academic year 2022-’23 was organized at the assembly ground on Wednesday, May 4. Piyush Das and Shweta Gorai of class 12 were elected as the Head Boy and the Head Girl respectively while Akshat Kumar and Anamika Malviya of class 10 were elected Secretary and Treasurer respectively.  Along with the four Council Members, the Captains and Vice-Captains of the four Houses formally took the oath of office and promised to uphold the values and traditions of the institution. Gamharia police station Inspector Rajeev Singh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the ceremony. The School Band escorted the Chief Guest and the School Management to the venue in slow march. The program started with the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp and the elected members were sworn in by Principal Fr (Dr) Tony Raj, SJ.

In his address, Chief Guest Rajeev Singh observed, “Always remember that you are the mirror of your institution and, as such, should reflect the values of growth and development. The importance of democratic process in formation of the Students’ Council is an opportunity to develop leadership qualities in each student through organizing activities during an academic year.”

Principal Fr Dr Tony Raj, SJ during administering the oath encouraged the Council members to discharge their duties and responsibilities with utmost sincerity and honesty. School Vice Principal, Fr Dayanidhi Bisoi along with senior teachers Saroj Ranjan, Vikas Singh and Sangita Rai supervised and coordinated the program. Sister Rashmi, Sister Archana and other teachers of the school organized the programme.
