Bhubaneswar: Xavier Institute of Management (XIM), Bhubaneswar, hosted the 6th edition of X-EMINENCE 2025, its flagship annual business conclave for the Executive MBA (EMBA) program. Held on January 11th, 2025, the event was centered around the theme “Reimagining the Future” and brought together esteemed industry leaders and experts who shared their valuable insights on the evolving landscape of business, technology, sustainability and finance.
The conclave began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Prof. S. S. Ganesh and Fr. V. Arockiya Das, SJ, provided the opening remarks, emphasizing the need for adaptability and foresight to address future challenges. Prof. Soumyajyoti Datta moderated the first session, which featured prominent speakers, including Manish Pandeya, Partner at Deloitte Consulting, who kicked off the event with an inspiring address. He highlighted the remarkable advancements in communication technologies, stating, “As humans, we never thought we’d be able to talk to someone on the phone while traveling on a train or flying in an airplane, but here we are today.”
Arnav Banerjee, Director of Supply Chain AI at Micron Technology, followed with an insightful talk on the importance of unlearning and relearning to drive innovation. “Unlearning, relearning and continuous learning must go hand in hand for true progress,” he remarked, stressing that the ability to adapt to change is essential for future success. The final speaker of the session, Avinash Samal, Head of HR (T&D) at Tata Consultancy Services, emphasized the need for individuals to upskill and embrace change. He encouraged the audience to break free from self-imposed limitations, saying, “Before asking whether we can do something, we often limit ourselves by saying, ‘I cannot do this.’”
The second session, moderated by Bhaskar Basu, focused on emerging trends and sustainability in business. Sharat Chandra, Founder of Empower Edge Venture, captivated the audience by stating, “The future is already here,” discussing the transformative power of technology. Sachin Gangwar, Head of Sustainability at Tata Consultancy Services, highlighted the growing importance of sustainability, particularly the legal mandates requiring companies to reduce their carbon footprint. Sandhya Ramasubramanian, Senior Vice President – Finance at Anand Rathi Wealth Ltd., concluded the session with a talk on wealth management, explaining the balance between risk and return in investments.
The conclave concluded with an interactive panel discussion and a Q&A session, followed by heartfelt thanks from the moderators and speakers for the enriching participation of attendees. X-EMINENCE 2025 successfully provided a platform for future business leaders to explore and understand the changes shaping the world.
