Jamshedpur, August 11: World Tribal Day was organized by the students of different departments of Jamshedpur Women’s University.
Anjila Gupta, Vice Chancellor of the varsity told that World Tribal Day is celebrated internationally every year on August 9 to promote and protect the rights of indigenous tribals. International Day of the Indigenous Peoples brings new energy and inspiration to all the tribal groups of the world. On this day, she also gives the message of protecting the environment to other groups of the world.
Cultural dances were organized by the girl students of various departments of Jamshedpur Women’s University and the culture of various tribal communities of India was presented through ramp walk.
Tribal painting of Jharkhand in which Warli art, Sohrai painting, exhibition of African tribal painting was also organized by the girl students. Also, pictures of food habits of various tribal communities in Jharkhand were also displayed.
