World Population Day: NSS volunteers of Manipal Tata Medical College on house-to-house awareness drive

Jamshedpur July 12: NSS Unit of Manipal Tata Medical College observed World Population Day and organised a house-to-house awareness programme about the “Need of small family norms and their benefits “by NSS Volunteers, Unit of Manipal Tata Medical College.

The National Service Scheme, known for its active involvement in community service activities, has been instrumental in conducting this event. The Sensitization Programme was conducted in Zone 4 of Birsanagar. NSS volunteers conducted house to house visits and imparted the awareness about the small family norms (Chota Pariwar Sukhi Pariwar) and its benefits on the health and education of the family members, about the family planning methods to the couples. There was a good response from the community members.

The event was organized by Dr Sachin Kumar Patil (NSS Programme Officer). Sahiya Usha, Arjun M S and NSS student volunteers.

World Population Day, World Population Day is commemorated annually on July 11th to raise awareness and educate individuals about the challenges and consequences associated with global population growth. It serves as a reminder to continuously work towards addressing these issues and improving the lives of everyone on the planet. The observance of World Population Day aims to promote understanding and encourage collective efforts in tackling the impacts of population growth.
