Jamshedpur, March 20: World Pakhal Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Utkal Association in Sakchi on Friday, bringing together members of the Odia community.
On the occasion, the Association also connected online with a programme organized by the Tourism Department of the Odisha government, marking a proud moment for the organization.

A special feast was arranged where traditional Pakhal was served along with 11 side dishes, including chokha, chutney, fried badi, drumstick stems, saag, and fish. Hundreds of members, including men and women, participated in the celebration and enjoyed the traditional meal.
Speakers highlighted the cultural importance of Pakhal, a staple summer dish in Odisha, and emphasized the need to preserve and promote traditional food practices. Members also pledged to keep their rich cultural heritage alive for future generations.
The event was successfully organized with the support of key members, including Trustee Manoranjan Das, President Dr. Sridhar Pradhan, and General Secretary Tarun Kumar Mahanty, along with several vice presidents and volunteers.
The programme concluded on a festive note, reflecting unity and pride among the community members.
