Restaurants and hotels wear cricket on their sleeves

Jamshedpur: As all eyes get set on the ICC World Cup Cricket matches being played in England, not only are cricket fanatics from the city but hotels and restaurants too are getting into gear for the occasion. From making bartenders wear jerseys of Team India to giving great offers on food and beverages, the hotels and major eating joints have come up with unique ideas.
City�s leading Hotel South Park has presented �Fanzone� to make visitors enjoy food , drinks with cricket. The visitors are also getting chance to win World Cup Gold & Silver Discount Card on food valid for one year.The hotel has created a unique ambience to get the cricket fans into the mood for the big matches.

�The interiors have been given a tri-colour look. To give a feeling of being present at the stadium watching live cricket,special arrangements have been made at the hotel. We want our guests to enjoy the game while they watch it. The main reason for us putting up this decor is so that each person visiting the hotel gets a feel of the game,” said Ravi Verma, general manager, Hotel South Park.
From Viratchicken tikas to Rohitkebab to Dhawanrice, all will be on the platter for the cricket crazy fans of the city.
Hotel Sonnet and Sky 180 are also providing mouthwatering stuff named after cricketing icons with fans singing and dancing on every ball of the match.
And that’s not all! A few hotels are looking at having dinner buffets too. “We plan to put up a projector in the banquet hall where the World Cup match will be screened. “If all goes well, we will be more than happy to have a buffet meal too, so that people have a scrumptious meal while enjoying the match. Starters and other munchies will be given all through the match,� said an official.
�We have planned to serve the lunch and dinner menu with stuff named after cricketing icons and discount packages for the day are also on the offer,� said an official of Hotel Sonnet.
Meanwhile, Vivekananda Milan Sangh in Pramathnagar, at Parsudih, has put up a 20×8 canvas screen at Durga Puja maidan to watch the matches.
�We believe in sports and celebrate cricket and football World Cups in similar fashion every four years. We have already arranged a projector. Preparations are almost complete,� said Rana Dey, president of the club. He added that special arrangements are being made for the India-Pakistan clash on June 16,� Deyinformed.
