World Class Quality Level II award for Tata Motors, Jamshedpur plant

Jamshedpur, April 9: Tata Motors, Jamshedpur plant, has been awarded World Class Quality Level II certification on April 8, 2016. The WCQ Level II certificate was presented to Ajoy B Lall, Head � Jamshedpur plant, by Satish B Borwankar, executive director (Quality), in the presence of senior leaders from Tata Motors and TML Drivelines.

A press communiqu� issued by Tata Motors on Saturday, the plant underwent an intensive assessment from April 5 to 8, 2016 by the cross-location team of assessors, mentored by Satish Borwankar (ED-Quality) and led by Chetan Chawla (Head-CV Quality). The assessors� team appreciated the improved work culture and the various processes and changes put in place to attain higher standards of quality.

Strong focus was given on deployment of core requirements with constant reviews and guidance from the plant leadership.

Involved and engaged workforce at the shop floor implemented processes and changes wherever required to meet WCQ Level II requirements and sustenance of Level 1 at each area. The workers� union also supported this initiative.

On the occasion, the company executive director congratulated the entire team and emphasized that the WCQ System is the key to success in business. Going further, he urged the team to focus on incoming logistics, storage of materials and kitting at lines to improve exponentially and achieve higher levels of WCQ.

The plant head congratulated every member of Team Jamshedpur and empathized that they hold on to their strengths and ensure that these become part of their DNA as they move ahead in the journey of quality.
