Jamshedpur, June 26: A workshop on child trafficking and Mission Vatsalya was organized at RPF Conference Hall, Tatanagar railway station on Sunday. It was held under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), East Singhbhum. First Class Judicial Magistrates Prashant Singh and Sripriya addressed the gathering on this occasion. They spoke on the various aspects of child trafficking and Mission Vatsalya. Prashant Singh said rail route had become an easy way for human trafficking. In such a situation, the responsibility of RPF jawans increased manifold. He said the RPF officers and jawans should deeply probe such cases to nab traffickers and rescue children. Sripriya stressed on the rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking after they are rescued. She said Jharkhand Legal Services Authority had started Mission Vatsalya to rehabilitate such children.
Assistant Security Commissioner of RPF KC Nayak said so far 270 children have been rescued by the Human Trafficking Unit of South Eastern Railway in all its four divisions. This year, 120 kids have been rescued, he said.
