Workshop held on forest conservation

Jamshedpur: A workshop on forest conservation was organized in Borakanta village of Gwalkanta panchayat in Jadugora on Sunday. It was held under the aegis of Paryavaran Chetna Kendra.
Sidheshwar Sardar, director of the organization, said the main purpose behind organizing the workshop was to create awareness among the people on saving the forests from human activities. He said the villagers were trained to identify and preserve many medicinal herbal plants and other trees. For this purpose, a stall on various forest produce was also put up at the workshop. The villagers were informed about the benefits of plantation, he said.
People came to the workshop from Dokrai, Rimda, Nutandih, Bada Sikdi and Gitildih villages.
