Workers organize sit-in at SDO Office

Jamshedpur: Members of The Slag Pickers Labourers Cooperative Society staged a sit-in before the office of the Sub Divisional Officer, Dhalbhum, Madhvi Mishra, on Monday in support of their various demands. Leading the agitators, former MLA Dulal Bhuiyan said around 25,000 people comprising slag pickers and their family members were on the verge of starvation as a result of prohibition on plying slag-loaded vehicles on the city roads. He said the slag vehicles should be allowed to run in the city so that slag pickers could earn their living.
