Jamshedpur, Feb 8: A 28 year-old worker, identified as Ramesh Singh Sardar, died after falling from the fourth floor of Karim City College at Road No 1, Mango, under Azadnagar police station on Saturday. He died at the scene.

Sources said the incident happened around 8.30 am when Sardar had gone to the terrace of the building to prepare scaffold with bamboos. Due to rain, the bamboos were wet. As a result, Sardar, a resident of Daiguttu, slipped from one of the bamboos and fell straight to the ground. He sustained fracture in both legs and severe head injury in the incident.
Workers alleged that the contractor concerned had forced Sardar to go to the terrace for scaffold construction despite his unwillingness due to rainy season.
